KUWAIT CITY, Nov 4, (KUNA): Khutba (sermon) of this Friday noon prayer in Kuwait mosques will be devoted to lessons from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al- Sabah’s recent address at the National Assembly, according to Minister of Justice and Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaqoub Al- Sanea. His Highness the Amir’s address at the inauguration of the 4th session of the Assembly’s 14th Legislative Term, has “consolidated values of love, fraternity and unity of word,” the minister said in a press statement. It also reiterated values of mercy and rejection of all forms and causes of division, as well as excluding whatever that may disturb the society or lead to rivalry and disagreements. His Highness the Amir’s address bore a multitude of lessons that need to highlighted, be well-considered and activated for social safety, Al-Sanea noted.

It was a paternal speech, from a father who bears great love toward his sons, fearing they might fall in the quagmire of discord that could ruin the society’s security and stability, the minister said. Moreover, His Highness the Amir stressed the momentousness of cooperation, consolidation and abandoning hatred, warning against whatever feeds malice and detestable sectarianism.

The address urged all to fulfil their duties toward their nation and society, and to maintain potentials of future generations. Meanwhile, radicalism was utterly defeated when the people of Kuwait banded together against the terrorist attack on the Imam Al- Sadiq Mosque back on June 26, a stance which reflected values of moderation and peaceful co-existence thriving in the Kuwaiti society, said Minister of Awqaf and Islamic affairs Yaqoub Al-Sanea. Al-Sanea, also Minister of Justice, delivered this statement during his participation at a forum on moderation, held late on Tuesday.

During the forum, organized by the Awqaf Ministry’s center for moderation, Al-Sane said that the State was keen on spreading the true image of Islam in an effort “to pull the rug from under the feet of the radicals.” He noted that a document to bolster national unity, prepared by the Ministry, was within the efforts to spread notions of coexistence among people in Kuwait.

Meanwhile, several officials and participants from several State authorities affirmed that they would work with the Ministry of Awqaf to distribute the national unity document and other materials to prevent those with radical views from spreading their “poisonous” ideas among people.
