Securitymen in hot chase arrest 2 drug traders

KUWAIT CITY, March 29: A Gulf national and a Bedoun were apprehended in a hot chase on the Fourth Ring Road after the police fired shots in the air and warned them to surrender. The two suspects were seen driving in the opposite direction of the road in their vain attempt to escape from the police for peddling in drugs. A security source said anti-narcotics men raided a place in Salmiya area following a tip-off about drug peddling activities that happen there, and the two suspects were spotted at the location. The duo managed to flee the scene in a US-made vehicle and drove through the opposite direction of the Fourth Ring Road, but the officers chased them and fired warning shots to make them surrender. They were referred to Drug Prosecution.

Expat’s wallet, cellphone stolen: Police are looking for an unidentified person, wearing sports gear for robbing an expatriate, reports Al-Shahed daily. The man was reportedly armed with a stun gun. The expatriate reportedly out of fear fell on the ground and the suspect escaped with the man’s wallet and cell phone.

Iraqi trucker arrested: Customs officers at the Al-Abdali border post have foiled an attempt by an Iraqi trucker to smuggle heroin into the country, reports Al-Rai daily. The arrest came because the trucker looked confused when the police sniffer dogs started barking. The drugs were found hidden in packs of salt.

Man plans to sue ex-wife: An unidentified Kuwaiti plans to file a lawsuit against his expatriate ex-wife in her home country because she has reportedly eloped with another man, got married to him and gave birth to a baby girl, reports Al-Rai daily. The Kuwaiti said, he had separated from his wife over family matters and the divorce case is still awaiting a ruling in a local court. The defense lawyer representing the Kuwaiti said she has documents to prove his ex-wife is married to another man although the local court has yet to issue a verdict in the separation case.
