‘We pray for success of new Amir’

Dr Jamal

“ALL humanity was affected by its various orientations and diversities by the demise of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah after he spent a long life in performing his national role for his homeland and his people, and as he continued to work on the Arab and Islamic levels, and then on the international level with all vigor, ability and success in all political forums and at various levels,” columnist and former MP Abdulmohsen Yusuf Jamal wrote for Al-Qabas daily.

The late Amir, may God have mercy on him, contributed to many regional and international events, and his fingerprints were clear and impactful in resolving many of them and modifying the course of some of them, let alone he was the best aide for the former rulers of the State of Kuwait since the reign of his father Al-Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber followed by Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem, Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed and Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah with whom he drew many important paths at home and in the world.

“His Highness the late Amir, we pray to Almighty Allah to bestow His mercy upon him, contributed to solve many problems in the Arab world. He had his clear fingerprints in the Palestinian cause and his contribution to solving many problems among their their leaders, especially since the Palestine Liberation Organization was established on the land of Kuwait and launched from it to the whole world.

“The fingerprints of the deceased were prominent in various Arab countries. He worked to spread peace among the people of Yemen, unify its people, end the civil war in Lebanon, rebuild it after its wars, and his role in uniting its people, stand with Algeria to its victory, help the Sudan and defuse conflicts in Khartoum, and help Iraq after the fall of its previous regime.

“Meanwhile, he assisted the Gulf region and was responsible for carrying out the Kuwaiti decision in his capacity as the country’s foreign minister to stretch its hand to our people in the Gulf under all circumstances and he and his brother the late Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed and the leaders of the Arab Gulf States, successfully contributed towards the establishment of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

“His role was appreciated by the entire world for stopping in the track the aggravation of the Gulf conflicts which he successfully contained through his wisdom and political dimension and the world thanked him for this achievement.

“At the international level, his rich contributions, which he recorded in the name of Kuwait, were to extend a helping hand to all needy people in the whole world, and through the United Nations that attested to this support, through which the Secretary-General bestowed on his His Highness ‘Leader of Humanity’ title, and his country ‘the country of humanity’.

“This initiative was supported by the entire world and praised the people of Kuwait who are known from since ancient times for their keenness to help the needy everywhere and to establish humanitarian, health and social institutions wherever the need is without favor. Our late leader basked in humility. We pray to God Almighty to cover him with His mercy and give the late Amir the place in the gardens of eternity.

“We also pray to Almighty God to grant his successor His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah the ability to continue the march of our esteemed rulers, and to assist him in carrying out his mission with success and continue the good work and the successful Kuwaiti march, as witnessed by the whole world.

“In conclusion, we have to say, we pray to Almighty Allah to bestow His mercy upon Sabah of goodness and charity and the Amir of Humanity and send him to his vast paradise, and we belong to God and to Him we shall return.”

“We have grown up and the Palestinian cause has taken over all of our thoughts, feelings and aspirations that compel us to defend the demands of the Palestinian people to return to their land and restore the Palestinian right to its people,” columnist Mohammad Salem Al-Balhan wrote for Al-Qabas daily.

No matter how many days pass by, we will never forget what the brotherly Palestinian people faced – the tragedies caused by the occupation. The occupier usurped the rights of these people and displaced them from their country – the land of their fathers and grandfathers – through oppression, murder, violation of inviolability and domination.

“The Palestinian issue is a crime against an unarmed people that has never been exposed or seen in history.  The world has not found the cruelty of the occupation that has imposed its dirty hands on the competitor of our ancient Palestinian people.

“Yes, the whole world is aware of the ugliness of what has been committed against the Palestinian cause, as well as the persecution, killing and displacement of the brotherly Palestinian people. The matter was not hidden from anyone except those who say: ‘The eye is insight, the hand is short.’

“The noble peoples of the world did not hide their disapproval and intense resentment over what happened to the Palestinian people.  Many of these honorable peoples acknowledge believing in the right of the Palestinians to return to their land… legitimate rights that the human conscience cannot deny.

“We found these nobles who support the rights of the Palestinian people and the just Palestinian cause among the peoples of countries which we have analyzed – in the farthest Latin American countries, in the congregations of our brothers in Africa … and many others in the brotherly and friendly countries of Asia.”

“Without a doubt, the opposing political opinions and rising wave of parliamentary or public opposition against any kind of political discourse are among the important and basic pillars in promoting the concept of true democracy, which affects the constitutional policy of countries in dealing with domestic and international issues.  This is based on the psychology and general dynamics of governments and peoples governed by constitutions,” columnist Attorney Nasser Al-Mehyali wrote for Annahar daily.

“At this point, we would like to review the historical brief of a British document, so that the political knowledge of the concept of documents is complete for those who oppose the idea in the documents submitted to the ruling authority in countries which are positively pushing towards general reform.

“The Magna Carta or the Great Charter is an English document issued in the year 1215 AD.  It was issued again in the year 1216 AD, which was adopted into law in the year 1225 AD.  The version issued in 1297 AD is still in the books on the internal regulations of England and Wales until now.

“The Magna Carta is considered one of the most important legal documents in the history of democracy, as this charter has vast influence on the historical process that led to the rule of constitutional law today.  In addition, this pact significantly affected constitutions and other documents, such as the United States Bill of Rights.”

“First of all, we extend our condolences to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Al-Sabah family, Kuwaiti people, Arab and Islamic nations, and the world at large on the death of HH the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, asking the Almighty God to cover him with His mercy, transcend him and make Paradise his abode, O the Most Generous,” Talal Munaizil Al-Enezi wrote for Al-Rai daily.

“The knight got off … Sabah Al-Ahmad, the leader, the Amir, the man, the diplomat, and tender father. Sabah Al-Ahmad was not an ordinary Amir. He was an exceptional Amir and leader by all standards. A leader of global diplomacy; a teacher of politics, wisdom, farsightedness and tolerance.

“With his wisdom and years of experience, he was able to solve many problems and reduce a lot of tensions. How can we forget his shuttle trips to defuse the crisis between Oman and the UAE? How can we forget his shuttle trips at the beginning of the Gulf crisis, while he was an old and sick man in the blessed month of Ramadan? He did not hesitate to make the trips in an effort to conceal the disagreement and bring together the viewpoints between brothers.

“As regards his stances on Arab and Islamic issues, he was firm and resolute and did not budge. His stance on the Palestinian issue was firm and he did not give up on his position. He used to express in all international forums the right of Palestinian people to self-determination through the establishment of an independent state. His humanitarian stances and assistance to the nations of the world made him a humanitarian leader and symbol of humanitarian work. He did not hesitate to hold conferences to restore Iraq and support Syrian people and many others.

“Globally, his fragrant biography forced the strongest country in the world – the United States of America – to honor him with a medal, which has been awarded to only three Arab leaders.”

“The high school results of both arts and science sections have never experienced such a disastrous and tragic incident in the history of Kuwait like it did in the times of coronavirus… ‘Everyone is successful’ (Oh God, only a very few were not successful for various reasons)”, Yousef Abdul-Rahman wrote for Al-Anba daily.

“When the results were released and it was discovered that almost no one failed, my educational and academic memory reminded me of a noble and courageous position about which I will write today in this article so that my people will know that the former leaders of the Ministry of Education – both men and women – were models that we can present at all times as witness of the era that we lived.

In 1991, after the liberation, intense dialogues and discussions took place within our Kuwaiti society among educational leaders who had free conscience. What we are citing now happened in the year 1442 AH, corresponding to 2020 CE, after they rejected the so-called  year of integration” when some of them submitted their resignations as a price for their national position to keep education away from the “politicization”. This was done with the love for this message and to preserve the honesty of students from the immediate interests, mixing papers, and venturing into experiments with incalculable results.

We, as veteran generation, all remember the resignation of Professor Suad Al-Rifai, who was not deceived by the ministerial position and the chair. She presented an honest and decisive patriotic position led by a “living conscience” for the people of Kuwait, not for the chair with which she was honored!

I remember this noble position of one of the knights of the Ministry of Education. Her opinion was not heard, not even before accepting her resignation, and she left without participating in a “case” that requires a free person to present their opinion with all boldness and courage… and Suad, a daughter of the righteous Kuwait, did it!”
