Pop-up markets, hawkers targeted – Crackdown launched

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 30: A team from the Department of Public Hygiene and Road Occupancy of Farwaniya Municipality launched campaigns against hawkers and random pop-up markets that emerge during weekends in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area and spoil the beauty of the area, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

In a press release, acting Director of the department Saud Al-Harbi revealed that the campaigns resulted in the issuance of 16 citations, and confiscation of six truckloads of vegetables, fruits and used furniture. He affirmed that the aim of such campaigns is to clear all violations related to transgression of state and private properties in various areas throughout Kuwait.

Also, the Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality urged all Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates to cooperate with the inspection teams and avoid the latest trend of taking pictures of negative aspects related to the Municipality and circulating them on social media
