Police arrest 4 in possession of unlicensed guns, 6,000 bullets

KUWAIT CITY, March 24: Four Kuwaiti men were arrested in possession of unlicensed guns, 6,000 bullets, ammunition and a Kalashnikov during a security campaign in Kabad area. Securitymen launched the security campaign based on instructions from Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs Major General Abdulhameed Al-Awadi. Police have also taken into custody a Kuwaiti woman who was wanted by law for failing to pay a total of KD 20,000 to several people and companies. She has been handed over to the Sentences Enforcement Department because she had been sentenced in absentia to 12 months imprisonment.

Lebanese, Omani held: A wanted Omani expatriate was arrested along with his Lebanese friend while they were heading to Salmi desert area to hunt birds. Jahra securitymen were patrolling the area when they stopped a vehicle and checked the details of the two occupants to discover the driver is a Lebanese national while his friend is an Omani who is wanted by law over a case. When questioned, the Lebanese explained that they were only hunting sparrows rather than the “love bird” and that it was his first time. They were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary action.
