KUWAIT CITY, Nov 2: The Ministry of Interior has clarified that biometric fingerprinting will no longer be carried out at Kuwait’s border entry and exit points—air, land, or sea—to prevent congestion and delays that had previously been reported at these locations.

Instead, the ministry announced that biometric fingerprinting for Kuwaiti citizens must be completed before travel at the Personal Identification Centers of the General Department of Criminal Evidence or at the National Identity Centers. For residents, the process will be available exclusively at the Personal Identification Centers of the General Department of Criminal Evidence, located in all governorates across the country.

The decision, the ministry explained, is part of ongoing efforts to streamline travel procedures and ensure the smooth flow of passengers at all border crossings, including Kuwait International Airport and the various land and sea ports. The move follows repeated incidents where travelers who had not completed their biometric registration in advance caused congestion and delays during departure.

The Ministry of Interior urged all citizens and expats to complete their biometric fingerprinting well ahead of their planned travel dates by visiting one of the designated centers. Doing so, it emphasized, will help avoid unnecessary complications or disruptions during their journey.
