KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: The Kuwait Municipality said a meeting will be held between the Municipality, the Public Authority for Civil Information, the Ministry of Interior and mayors of areas to discuss the latest developments such as the file of bachelors who are accommodated by real estate owners in model housing areas, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources from the Kuwait Municipality.

“The first recommendation which is expected to be made during the meeting will be to review the civil IDs of all registered bachelors in the private and model housing areas. No ID will be renewed unless the address is changed. This is in addition to preventing the registration of any new lease on behalf of any bachelor and landlords who do not abide by the instructions will be referred to the Public Prosecution, the source said.

The source pointed out the service centers in the country complain about the deterioration of infrastructure, and negative effects on the power plants and the tremendous pressure on the sewage system. This is in addition to the deterioration of the streets, the accumulation of waste in front of homes because of the large number of bachelors in the private and model housing areas.

The source stressed on the need to punish the bachelors who violate the law through the imposition of financial fines. This means need to increase inspections and it is the duty of the security authorities to act and evict bachelors from private and model housing areas.

The source stressed on the importance of forming an integrated team comprising members from all concerned parties and not only the Kuwait Municipality emergency teams, whose role is to take immediate action, either by cutting off power supply or refer the individuals to the security authorities for appropriate action.
