KUWAIT CITY, May 24: An informed source at the Public Authority for Manpower said PAM has activated the decision to stop work under direct sunlight with effect from June 1 until Aug 31, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, according to the decision work should be halted between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm in open areas which are directly under the sunlight. The source indicated PAM is working to set up a work mechanism to enforce the decision. PAM called on the businesses to abide by the decision to prevent being held legally accountable. The source stressed that aim of the decision is to protect workers, not to disrupt work, and it is possible to compensate for the ‘lost’ hours by working in the evening when the temperatures are lower.
