KUWAIT CITY, Aug. 29: A responsible source within the Kuwait Municipality has confirmed that there is no intention or directive to remove diwaniyas encroaching on state property in private and community areas currently.
The source clarified that removing these diwaniyas is not a priority in the current municipal plan. However, the municipality continues to address complaints as they arise, working according to a specific strategy. The source emphasized that current priorities include enhancing cleanliness levels and streamlining citizen transactions by integrating services with the (Sahel) application.
Meanwhile, the Director of Public Relations and official spokesperson for the municipality, Muhammad Al-Sindan, explained that the municipality's supervisory teams are focused on handling complaints and reports across all governorates. Their fieldwork is governed by regulations concerning cleanliness, construction, shops, and advertisements.
Al-Sindan addressed the public perception of the municipality's inspection efforts, stating that concerns about the methods used by inspection teams are exaggerated. He emphasized that the actions taken are standard procedures aligned with the regulations specific to each type of violation. These measures are determined by the nature of the violation and the responsibilities of the relevant department in enforcing appropriate corrective actions.
Al-Sindan also urged citizens not to be swayed by rumors or exaggerated reports, particularly regarding the municipality's field measures in various areas, including craft, commercial, industrial, residential, agricultural, and chalet zones.
