Municipality pulls down 37 tents

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 29: Ad-Hoc Committee on Review of 2018/2019 Spring Camping Locations, in collaboration with the Department of Public Hygiene and Road Usages at Jahra Municipality, has demolished 37 violating tents since commencing the campaign to remove violating tents at Kabad Desert Region, says Al- Seyassah.

Director of the department Fahad Al-Qarenah declared the campaign became necessary after the postponement of camping season until further notice. He advised owners of violating tents to dismantle them immediately to avoid legal action, noting the campaign will continue according to the committee’s schedule.

Meanwhile, a team from Public Hygiene and Road Occupancy Department in Farwaniya Municipality carried out a campaign during which 6,500 cubic meters of garbage was removed, 33 neglected cars were lifted and warning stickers were placed on 160 others, reports Al-Seyassah daily. In a press release, Director of the department Sa’ad Al-Khurainej said the team also issued 80 citations and confi scated 400 cubic meters of used equipment and clothes from street hawkers. In addition, 450 garbage bins have been replaced with new ones and 1,500 others were cleaned.
