MoH warns against pseudo-scientific methods to diagnose, treat illnesses

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 20: The Ministry of Health has warned against using pseudoscientific methods in diagnosing and treating illnesses, such as the so-called ‘energy medicine’.

In a press statement, the ministry pointed out that many international institutions have warned about this kind of treatment due to detrimental outcomes as patients will be affected once deprived of universally sanctioned treatment.

In addition, the ministry will celebrate World Diabetes Day 2018 on Wednesday with the theme: “Diabetes, the concern of every family.” The ministry said three percent of deaths in the country are due to diabetes, indicating the diabetes rate among adults (18 years old and above) is 15 percent as per the report published by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2016.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health will celebrate World Diabetes Day with the theme: “Diabetes, concern of every family” under the auspices of Health Minister Dr Basel Al-Sabah.
