MOH dismisses rumors about attack against a patient

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 31: Ministry of Health has confirmed that the news circulating about a patient who was attacked by three people in a hospital is baseless, as an investigation was conducted to verify the allegation, reports Al-Rai daily.

In its statement, the ministry reiterated that the video clip in which a patient claimed to have been attacked by three people was not true.

It explained that the patient was admitted for a surgery. While in the ward, he used to smoke cigarettes despite protests from other patients in the ward and medical team. Moreover, the act was in violation of the law that bans smoking inside hospitals and government facilities in general.

The ministry calls upon all health facility users to abide by the state laws, guidelines and instructions regulating these facilities in a manner that preserves the comfort and right of health care providers and recipients.
