Teachers expired ‘iqama’ tackled

KUWAIT CITY, May 5: The official spokesperson of Ministry of Education and Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Development and Activities Faisal Al-Maqseed says Ministry of Education sent a letter to Ministry of Interior requesting to allow five employees from Human Resources Department to use the website for renewing the expired residencies of the employees including teachers of Ministry of Education.

He indicated that Ministry of Education is waiting for the response of Ministry of Interior to start the process for renewing the residencies, adding that a day or two will be allocated for each educational zone to collect the expired passports of the employees of Ministry of Education.

Meanwhile, Assistant Undersecretary for Developmental Affairs in Ministry of Education Raja Bouerki said the ministry will coordinate with Ministry of Interior to settle the problem related to the expiry of the residencies of some teachers.

He explained that necessary arrangements will be made after receiving the approval for filling forms and taking necessary steps to renew the residencies, which include avoiding gatherings and implementing social distancing. This will be carried out by the representative of Ministry of Education.
