Kuwait, Aug 29: Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan emphasized the need for advancing the country’s air transport infrastructure and adopting the highest international standards in civil aviation. Her comments came during a meeting with government agencies involved in the new passenger terminal T2 project.
The meeting, which included the Government Performance Follow-up Agency’s representative and acting Director General of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Eng. Duaij Khalaf Al-Otaibi focused on the progress of the terminal project. Dr. Al-Mashaan stressed the urgency of completing the project within the set deadlines and adhering to the contract’s schedule.
Dr. Al-Mashaan highlighted the Ministry’s collaborative efforts to ensure the successful completion of the new terminal, which aims to enhance the passenger experience and expand capacity to meet anticipated increases in air traffic. She underscored that the project reflects Kuwait’s commitment to advancing the civil aviation sector and supporting the nation's economic growth.
Following the meeting, Dr. Al-Mashaan addressed the need for effective coordination to address and resolve outstanding issues. She emphasized the importance of overcoming obstacles to ensure timely project completion. Discussions also covered Civil Aviation Book No. 10261/7, updates on telecommunications companies, and developments regarding Package (3) coordination.
The meeting also reviewed the access roads to Kuwait International Airport, with a focus on potential challenges travelers might face. Dr. Al-Mashaan described the new passenger terminal as a key national project aligned with the “New Kuwait 2035” vision. This initiative aims to transform Kuwait into a leading regional and global financial and commercial hub.
Dr. Al-Mashaan concluded by calling for unified efforts and cooperation among all parties involved to elevate Kuwait’s status and advance national projects and services.
