Measures taken to ensure power supply to Jaber Bridge around the clock

KUWAIT CITY, May 4: Assistant Undersecretary for Distribution Networks at the Ministry of Electricity and Water Mutlaq Al- Otaibi said the ministry has made great efforts and taken necessary precautions have been taken to ensure power supply to the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Bridge around the clock, reports Al- Anba daily.

He told the daily that 11 power stations will provide the bridge about 12 megawatts of power per day – for the street lighting and services on the islands and others. He pointed out that in case of emergency the electric supply to the bridge will be done by emergency power generators which are available around the clock.

He added that the capacitors have been installed at the Jaber Bridge, which will help to increase the efficiency of the transformers, improve their transformational capacity, reduce the loss rate and increase their life span, and provide a minimum of 15% of the actual capacity of each transformer.

He explained that the implementation of this new technology in this project will have a direct and effective impact in meeting the energy needs of the State and contribute to the advancement of the comprehensive development plan in the country.

“This project is one of the most effective projects in the provision of sustainable and environmentally friendly energy, because this technology has a significant impact on reducing the carbon dioxide emissions.
