Kuwaitis arrested for possessing drugs and liquor

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 12: Two Kuwaiti citizens were arrested in Hawally area for possessing 30 narcotic pills and a bottle of imported liquor. According to security sources, Hawally securitymen were patrolling the area when they suspected a vehicle with two occupants because it was being driven recklessly.

Securitymen stopped them and checked their details to discover they are Kuwaiti citizens. Detecting the stench of alcohol from them, securitymen asked them to step out of the vehicle and checked it to find 30 narcotic pills and a bottle of imported liquor. The suspects were arrested and referred with the confiscated items to the Drugs Control General Department for necessary action.

Husband assaulted: A Kuwaiti woman in her 30s and her sister attacked her former Iraqi husband and broke his nose in Salmiya area, reports Al- Rai daily. Reportedly, the 38-year old Iraqi man was walking in Salmiya area when his ex-wife and her sister blocked his way and started beating him. They warned passersby not to interfere and continued to beat him until they broke his nose. The duo then took his mobile phone and fled from the location, leaving the victim semi-conscious. He was taken to Mubarak Hospital for treatment. A case was filed against the sisters.
