KUWAIT CITY, Sept 11: The Supreme Committee for the Investigation of Kuwaiti Nationality has decided to revoke the Kuwaiti nationality of 12 individuals, as announced in a supplement to the official Gazette 'Al-Kuwait Al-Yawm' newspaper on Wednesday.
The decision affects six women and six men. This action is in accordance with Article 11 of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959, which governs the Kuwaiti Nationality Law and its amendments. The article specifies that a Kuwaiti citizen forfeits his nationality if he voluntarily acquires a foreign nationality. Additionally, the Kuwaiti wife retains her nationality unless she adopts her partner's new nationality, and minor children lose their Kuwaiti nationality if they obtain their father’s new nationality under applicable laws.
