Players hold their final training session.

CAIRO, Nov 12: Kuwait concluded its training sessions this evening at PetroSport Stadium in Cairo, Egypt, as it prepares for against Tanzania on Thursday at Cairo International Stadium. The match is part of the team’s build-up for the upcoming Arab Cup.

The team’s training camp in Cairo runs until November 20 and will include a second friendly against Gambia on November 18. Afterward, the squad will travel to Doha, Qatar, to face Mauritania on November 25 in the Arab Cup qualifiers.

The squad is now complete with the arrival of Sultan Al-Anzi, who joined the team delegation recently. Under Portuguese coach Helio Sousa, the team trained twice daily—morning and evening—focusing on increasing training load, boosting fitness, refining tactical play, and strengthening player cohesion.

Meanwhile, Tanzania’s national team has also arrived in Cairo and started their training sessions ahead of the match.

Tanzania is currently led by interim coach Miguel Gamondi of Argentina, following the dismissal of Hamid Suleiman from Zanzibar just a month before the African Cup of Nations finals in Morocco, scheduled from December 21 to January 18.

Suleiman had guided Tanzania to qualify for the African Cup of Nations for the fourth time in history and reached the quarterfinals of this year’s African Nations Championship. However, the team failed to secure a spot in the 2026 World Cup, finishing third in the qualifiers behind Morocco and Niger.

Currently ranked 107th by FIFA, Tanzania’s squad includes six players who play professionally outside the country.
