KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7: Kuwait’s national volleyball team arrived back in Kuwait after securing the bronze medal in the inaugural Arab Challenge Cup held in Amman, Jordan.
Tunisia claimed the championship title, with Egypt finishing as runners-up. Host nation Jordan placed fourth, followed by Bahrain in fifth and Palestine in sixth.
The team received a warm welcome from Kuwait Volleyball Association President Dr. Jaber Al-Marri, Assistant Secretary-General Nayef Al-Rashidi, Competitions Committee Chairman Aref Al-Subaihi, Training Committee Chairman Dr. Jaber Al-Sharif, his deputy Talal Jassem, as well as fans and families of the players.
Dr. Al-Marri congratulated the Kuwaiti volleyball community on the achievement, expressing hope that the bronze medal would pave the way for more future successes.
He praised the team for delivering strong performances despite notable absences, adding that the federation’s development plans are progressing well toward building a competitive national team capable of excelling in the coming years.
Al-Marri also extended his congratulations to the players and the technical and administrative staff, led by Argentine coach Julián Álvarez, assistant coach Zaid Al-Kazemi, and team manager Mohammed Al-Balushi. He urged them to maintain their momentum and prepare thoroughly for the next phase to continue raising the standard of Kuwaiti volleyball.
