KUWAIT CITY, June 25, (KUNA): Kuwait is allowing imports of all birds’ species from Iran and barring them from Finland. Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAFR) indicated in a statement, on Monday, that birds in Iran have become free of the Bird Flu (Avian Flu, or H5N1), however the disease has infected poultry in Finland. All birds’ imports are subject to terms issued by PAAFR’s livestock health department, implementing World Health Organization’s regulations and those stipulated in veterinary by-laws in Kuwait and other GCC countries. Importers of infected livestock are compelled to send the cargo back to the exporting country on their expenses.
