KUWAIT CITY, Dec 9: Kuwait Club continued its unbeaten run in the basketball league, recording its sixth consecutive victory by defeating Qadsia 96-82 in their sixth-round clash. The round also saw Kazma edge past Qurain 91-88 in a tightly contested match.

With the win, Kuwait Club strengthened its position at the top with 12 points from six straight victories, while Kazma moved to 11 points in second place. Qurain climbed to third with 9 points, and Qadsia rose to 8 points, sharing fourth place with Al-Salibikhat and Al-Nasr, who have identical points.

The championship follows a league format across three divisions, with the top four teams advancing to the semifinals. The semifinals adopt a best-of-three playoff system, where the first-ranked team faces the fourth, and the second faces the third, with the first team to win two games advancing to the final.

Currently, Kuwait Club and Kazma appear set to secure their semifinal spots, while Qadsia, Qurain, and Al-Salibikhat battle fiercely for the remaining two slots.

The Kuwait Club-Qadsia match started with Qadsia taking early control, powered by Abdulmohsen Al-Mousawi and American Brandon Garrett, and leading 21-17 at the end of the first quarter. Kuwait turned the game around in the second quarter, led by Hamad Adnan, the top scorer with 21 points, and American Charlie Moore, to take a 45-41 lead at halftime.

Kuwait Club extended its advantage in the third quarter, opening a 10-point gap, and maintained control to finish the match 96-82.

Meanwhile, Kazma staged a dramatic comeback in the final quarter against Qurain. Despite trailing in the first three quarters (30-25, 53-48, 77-65), Kazma rallied to claim a narrow 91-88 victory, highlighting the competitive intensity of the league.
