Kuwait Club and Al-Qadisiya players battling for the ball.

KUWAIT CITY, May 12: Kuwait Club aims to secure its second triumph over Al-Qadisiya, bolstering its quest for the Basketball League title.

Following its recent conquest of the Gulf Region title in the West Asian League, Kuwait Club cruised to a comfortable victory of 96-69 in the first encounter last Friday. The playoff finals are structured as a best-of-five series, with the championship claimed by the team securing three wins.

With aspirations of clinching their sixth consecutive title, Kuwait Club is eager to seize another win, inching closer to championship glory. Meanwhile, Al-Qadisiya, returning to the finals after a five-year hiatus, seeks to disrupt its opponent’s momentum and level the playing field.

Kuwait Club boasts a formidable lineup under the guidance of their German coach, Peter Schumer. Led by the dynamic American professional Young, alongside Marcus and Haitian standout Lalan, the team possesses a strong roster of local talents including the Hamad brothers, Muhammad Adnan, Imran Gohar, and Turki Hammoud, among others.

In contrast, Al-Qadisiya faces challenges with the underperformance of American professional Tilmon, brought in as a replacement for the injured Alonso. The team further suffered setbacks with the injury of prominent professional Robert Lowry. Coach Anthony Stebbing relies on the efforts of Americans Martic and Teran, supported by Muhammad Ashkanani, Abdul Mohsen Mortada, and Rashid Riyad in today's crucial matchup.
