DOHA, Oct 13: Kuwait will conclude its training session at 7:30 pm today in the Qatari capital, Doha, at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, home of Al-Sadd Club. The session is in preparation for their match against Palestine in the fourth round of the third phase of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, in Group Two.
The Blues’ Argentine coach, Juan Pizzi, has focused on correcting the mistakes made during their previous match against Oman last Thursday in the third round, which ended in a 4-0 defeat for Kuwait. This loss dropped Kuwait to fifth place with only two points. South Korea and Iraq are currently tied for the top spot with 7 points each, followed by Jordan with 4 points, Oman with 3 points, and Palestine in last place with 1 point.
In a meeting before training, Pizzi urged the players to put the loss against Oman behind them and focus on delivering a stronger performance. He encouraged the team to give their all to secure a positive result that would keep their qualification hopes alive.
In related news, the Qatari Football Federation has announced the opening of a special outlet for ticket sales for the match between Kuwait and Palestine. Tickets can be purchased through an online link on the Federation’s official website, along with other sales points.
The match between Kuwait and Palestine will be officiated by a Qatari referee team led by international referee Abdulrahman Al-Jassim, with Taleb Salem and Saud Ahmed as assistants, and Mohammed Al-Shammari as the fourth official. In the VAR room, Abdullah Al-Athba and Zahi Al-Shammari will oversee the video reviews.
The Palestine arrived in Doha and has begun training. Due to the current regional situation, the team has chosen Qatar as the venue for its home matches. Palestine arrived from Basra, where they faced Iraq in the third round and lost 1-0.
A press conference for the Kuwait national team will be held today at 11:00 AM in the conference hall at Al-Sadd Club. The Palestine national team's press conference will take place afterward, with a coach and a player from each team attending.
