A boat with a warning sticker by the Municipality is abandoned along the road

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 20: The Kuwait Municipality has launched a campaign to impound boats left ‘abandoned’ on state property which has become a common phenomenon, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Municipal teams have impounded several boats which were parked on public property after the owners ignored the warnings to move them.

The boats are parked at a center and the fine for lifting the boat is KD 100 and a fine of KD one for each day the boat remains at the center.

The Director of the Department of Hygiene and Road Occupancy at the Farwaniya Municipality Saad Al-Khreinej said the Municipality seeks through its field campaigns to lift abandoned and violating boats.

He stressed, it is impossible to grant licence to park boats in public squares or in front of houses on government land, which is considered illegal and an infringement on state property.
