Indian held local brew seized; Kuwaiti citizen & four Arabs arrested for selling imported liquor

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 9: An Indian expatriate was arrested in possession of 5 bottles of locally manufactured liquor in Bneid Al-Gar area, reports Al- Seyassah daily.

The suspect was arrested after he was chased. He was referred with the liquor bottles to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him. Meanwhile, a Syrian expatriate was arrested for playing loud music in his vehicle late night while driving down Restaurant Street in Salmiya area.

Meanwhile, the Ahmadi police have arrested an unidentified Asian for bootlegging, reports Annahar daily. The daily added, police have seized from the man 18 bottles of locally manufactured booze in Umm Al- Haiman and referred him to the authorities. And, police are looking for an unidentified thief for robbing a Syrian man, who is believed to be 80 years old. In his complaint the man said the suspect stole all his belonging and gold jewelry worth thousands of dinars.

Liquor peddlers held: A Kuwaiti citizen and four Arabs were arrested for selling imported liquor in Ahmadi area, says Al- Seyassah. According to security sources, when Directorate General for Drug Control received information about a gang of five involved in alcohol trade, a team was formed to observe the suspects. The suspects were arrested in possession of 800 bottles of imported liquor after an undercover agent was sent to purchase liquor from them. Necessary legal measures were taken before they were referred to the Public Prosecution.
