MUMBAI, Dec 24, (Agencies): In the one off cricket Test Match India clinched a historic win in women's Test cricket against Australia. Harmanpreet Kaur's team helped India win their first ever Test match against the Australian side. Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar were the architects of the win.

India thoroughly dominated Australia in the one-off Test match in Mumbai. This is Indian women's team's first ever Test win vs Australia. India put in a complete team performance against the Australian side. It was a thorough domination on Day 4 of the Test match from India as they clinched a historic win against Australia in women's cricket.

The Indian team put together a complete performance as they dominated from the very first day against a strong Australian team at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Today, India did not take long to wrap up things. Pooja Vastrakar struck in her very first over on the final day of the Test match, removing Ashleigh Gardner. Australia failed to add to their overnight score and saw one of their senior players getting back in the hut. Annabel Sutherland and Jess Jonassen tried to provide resistance but a double wicket over from spinner Sneh Rana saw Australia crumble in the 101st over of their second innings.

With India dominating the first hour of play there was very little hope for Australia. That proved to be true as Rajeshwari Gaikwad ran through the tail and wrapped up the Australian second innings for just 261 runs.

Needing 75 runs to win, India were off to a jittery start losing Shafali Varma in the very first over. Shafali hit a cracking four off Kim Garth and then fell to an outswinger from the Australian pacer, right ahead of Lunch on the final day. Smriti Mandhana took over from there and took India to victory with 8 wickets in hand. Apart from Shafali, Richa Ghosh lost her wicket in the final innings, while trying to hit Ashleigh Gardner for a six over long on.

Earlier in the game, India dominated Australia throughout their Test match. Bowling first in the game, India bowled out Australia for just 219 runs. Pooja Vastrakar picked up 4 wickets in the first innings, while Sneh Rana picked up 3 to clean up the lower order. India put in a massive batting performance on Day 1 and 2, hitting 406 runs in their first innings. While nobody scored a century, half-centuries from Smriti Mandhana, debutant Richa Ghosh, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Deepti Sharma. A valuable 47 from Pooja Vastrakar ballooned up India's total in the first innings, adding to Australia's misery.

After taking a mega lead of 187 runs, India struggled a little against the Australians, who started off well in their second innings. A brain-fade moment from Beth Mooney put Australia in trouble and they kept losing wickets despite getting starts against India. Australia were bowled out for 261 runs setting a target of 75, which India chased down in 18.4 overs.
