Holders of accounting and banking certificates change employment to financial departments

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 8: Officials from Ministry of Information and all its sectors have informed a number of employees who hold certificates in accounting and banking and do not work in the financial administration to change their employment status either by moving to financial departments or remaining in their current jobs without receiving the privileges given to accounting cadre, reports Al-Anba daily.

This was mentioned in a circular sent by the Civil Service Commission (CSC), which caught some of the employees by surprise, as they wondered about the timing of this decision especially since some of them are opting for retirement. Some sources explained that CSC issued the letter based on a letter sent by the Ministry of Information to arrange the work mechanism under the pretext that employees with financial qualifications work in departments that do not need their expertise.

Therefore, the financial sector of the ministry is more likely to work with it, even though this conclusion is not appropriate, because the employees who work in non-financial departments, for example in “radio, television, news and foreign media” and other departments, might still need employees with financial background. There are a number of employees in these non-financial departments who have financial qualifications even though they work in a department that is not affiliated with the ministry’s financial sector.
