KUWAIT CITY, March 5: Detectives from Sulaibiya Police Station affiliated to Jahra Criminal Investigations department (CID) have opened an investigation to identify the suspect who knocked down a four-year old Syrian child to death and later dumped his corpse at the premises of Sulaibiya Polyclinic. A source said rescue officers at the Operations Room received a distress call about the incident and quickly dispatched a team of officers led by Lieutenant Salem Al-Enezi to the scene. Upon arrival, the officers realized the child was dead and the perpetrator had fled the scene. The body was sent to Forensics for autopsy.

Female motorist arrested: A Kuwaiti woman in her 30s was arrested for attempting to storm into a building of Ministry of Interior, reports Al-Rai daily. According to a security source, guards protecting the building spotted through surveillance cameras a speeding vehicle heading towards the gate assigned for Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. They immediately raised the forked speedbreakers in front of the gate and fired a warning shot into the air, which forced the female driver to stop. Reportedly, the woman appeared to be in an abnormal condition and was speaking in an odd manner.

She was arrested and referred to the Criminal Investigations Department based on instructions from the Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Suleiman Al-Fahad. The source explained that the woman, during initial interrogation, behaved in a weird manner such as verbally abusing the men of the protection squad and using strange phrases such as “You took my car” and “I will go to Iraq and Saudi Arabia”. He indicated that Ministry of Interior recently ordered its staff to be ready to use live ammunition against suspicious targets if the warning shots are ignored several times, adding that such orders were given after the hitand- run incident against traffic police on duty at Dasman Roundabout which led to the death of one of them and injuries to several others.
