KUWAIT CITY, March 1: A security source revealed that the Ministry of Interior, based on a letter from the Ministry of Health, has issued “permission of absence” to expatriates (residents of Kuwait) who are currently in countries where cases of coronavirus have been reported. The source indicated that company representatives (mandoubs) can apply for “permission of absence” on behalf of an expat who is currently outside the country- even if their residencies expire.

The source explained that Ministry of Interior has imposed entry ban on Iranians, Chinese, and people from Hong Kong and Iraq. Also, it has authorized the Director of Residency Affairs to issue “permission of absence” of three months to this category, and they’re to be allowed to return to the country once the corona epidemic is contained.
