Employers file 9,305 absconding reports against expats via e-service

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 25: Director of Public Relations Department of Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) and PAM spokesperson Asil Al-Meziad says the number of absconding reports filed by employers via the e-service is 9,305, and the number of complaints lodged by employees is 4,004.

She explained that such e-services are provided by the Labor Department via the electronic gate called “Ashal”, facilitating transactions for companies that have subscribed to the service. These e-services include receiving information about the results of the complaints, registration of absconding reports, and receiving notifications via SMS about any complaints filed against the companies.

Employees can receive services via the e-gate by registering their contact numbers at Public Relations Department. The services provided to employees include registration of complaints, notification about any absconding reports filed against them, and obtaining important documents such as work permit and work contract, etc.

They will also receive immediate notification via SMS when an absconding report are filed against him. Al-Meziad revealed that an employee can subscribe to the service by filling an application form which should include his telephone number, and submitting it along with a copy of his civil ID at the labor department where the file of the company where the employee works is present or by visiting the website www.manpower.gov.kw where they can follow the instructions mentioned in the website, adding that the employee will receive a username and password via SMS
