KUWAIT CITY, Oct 10: The Jahra Committee of the Municipal Council approved several items during its third meeting of the third session held on Wednesday, chaired by member Abdullah Al-Enezi.
The approved items were:
The request of the Municipality Projects Sector to allocate a site for the desert adventures area project in North Mutlaa
The request of the Ministry of Communications to allocate a site for the third phase of the major fiber optic network project in Salmi,
The request of the Public Authority for Roads and Transportation (PART) to allocate sites for open basins and water channels to collect and drain rainwater around the South Saad Al-Abdullah Residential Area.
The request of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs to deduct part of agricultural plot No. 22 in the Abdali Agricultural Area, Block 2, to expand a mosque and parking facilities.
Cabinet’s Resolution No. 269/2024 regarding the Government Performance Follow-up Agency’s report on providing strategic storage areas for establishing warehouses and depots for food storage and other purposes in Oyoun.
The committee referred four items to the executive body:
A letter from the Public Authority for Industry regarding the allocation of a site for establishing an industrial complex for iron and steel products,
Three letters from the Jahra governor concerning the allocation of public service sites on Salmi Road
A request for the allocation of a site for the Abdali Cooperative Society in Subbiya.
The committee retained on its agenda a request submitted by the Public Authority for Industry for the inclusion of Plot No. 2A in Sulaibiya Industrial Area, Block 1, and a proposal submitted by member Abdullah Al-Enezi for the construction of two pedestrian bridges on Jahra Expressway 80, opposite Qairawan and Doha. Meanwhile, Kuwait Municipality has announced that it received 831 reports in all governorates during last September through the municipality’s hotline and WhatsApp number. She explained that the reports related to garbage and used furniture dumped in open areas and in front of homes, bachelor housing, rubble discarded on the roads that obstructed the road, fallen trees, street vendors, abandoned cars and boats.
