KUWAIT CITY, Feb 18: The Arms and Ammunition Collection team during a search of the arms ended up finding mummified crocodiles and other animals facing death by starvation, during one such raid on an animal pen which also fetched a Kalashnikov rifle and eight rifles and five pistols, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to security sources, the raid was conducted with permission from the Public Prosecution following a tip-off from an unidentified source that two Kuwaitis were involved in trading in various types of weapons in a suburb of Kabad.

During interrogation the men admitted to the charges filed against them and said they had been keeping crocodiles and snakes as pets and over the years when the animals and reptiles became old they starved them to death and then treated them with chemicals and stuffed them because they fetched more money.
