COVID vaccination status added on ‘Mobile ID’ app

KUWAIT CITY, May 8, (Agencies): Kuwait Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) has launched a new update for the Mobile ID application to include some important modifications, such as the COVID-19 vaccination status. This came under the directives of the Minister of Public Works and the Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Civil Information, Dr. Rana Al-Faris, and the Director General of the Authority, Musaed Al-Asousi. Al-Asousi noted that the app works on all smart device systems (Android, IOS, and Huawei), adding that all COVID-19 vaccination data will appear directly once the application is updated.

The Mobile ID app was launched in accordance with the Cabinet decision to be used as a digital civil card, and the number of its users has exceeded 1,700,000 so far. Kuwait’s Ministry of Health on Friday reported seven new COVID-19 deaths, and 1,209 infections in the past 24 hours. The Ministry’s spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told KUNA that the total fatalities increased to 1,628, and the caseload to 282,981 since the beginning of the pandemic. He added that the total recoveries have reached 266,917 after 1,387 patients recovered from coronavirus today making the recovery rate 94.3 percent out of the conducted tests. Moreover, 14,436 patients in total are receiving health care, including 206 at intensive care units, he said.
