Civil Defense panel expresses readiness for rainy season

MPW inspects areas exposed to the accumulation of rainwater last year

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25, (KUNA): Kuwait’s Civil Defense Committee on Tuesday stressed taking all necessary preparations and measures in cooperation with the relevant authorities in the country to cope with the expected rainy season.

This came in a statement issued by the committee after a tour by officials from the Interior Ministry, National Guard, Fire Service Directorate, and the Ministry of Public Works to inspect areas that have been exposed to the accumulation of rainwater that fell in the country last year.

The statement quoted the committee Deputy Chairman, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Lt Gen Essam Al-Naham as saying that Civil Defense, on the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, took all needed measures and preparations. Al-Naham noted that the committee stands equipped and ready and continues to communicate with various state bodies to face any emergency.

The tour was attended by Undersecretary of the National Guard Lt Gen Hashem Al-Rifai, Director General of the Fire Service Directorate Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Makrad and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works Ismail Ahmad.
