KUWAIT CITY, June 30: A number of citizens complained to the Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs Major General Fahd Al-Shuwai’e about the delays in lifting blocks that were imposed due to major traffic violations, even though these violations were committed two months back and the vehicles were seized and detained during that period, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

These citizens informed the daily that lifting the blocks was part of the rights of the heads of departments of ranks “Colonel” and “Lieutenant Colonel” but this right was taken from them. They said, “For example, when a citizen from Ahmadi Governorate wants to lift the block that was imposed due to a traffic violation, he has to go to the Capital Traffic Department so that the block can be lifted by Major General Al-Shuwai’e. Even though the penalties for the violation were imposed, the block remains, which prevents us from paying the fines and getting our seized vehicles released”.
