Bedoun in custody sets fire to police car

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 27: The security authorities have opened an investigation into why a bedoun who was caught on the Jahra Street in downtown Kuwaiti City and forced into a police vehicle was not body checked, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to the daily the bedoun was caught on suspicion because he looked abnormal and put in the back of the police vehicle and the suspect allegedly pulled out a cigarette lighter from his pocket and set fire to the police car while he was being taken to a police station for interrogation.

Following this the patrolmen pulled over, and managed to put out the fire with the help of a fire extinguisher before the arrival of firemen. The bedoun has been detained for interrogation and charged with destroying public property.
