Bangladeshi caught bribing KD 1,500 for 3 Filipinas release

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 29: Police have arrested an unidentified Bangladeshi for attempting to bribe the secretary of the Director of Security of the Jahra Police Station, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the suspect taking advantage of the kindness of the official waited till everyone left after work and approached the secretary and requested him to release three Filipino women who had been arrested for violating the residence law. He reportedly offered KD 1,500 – KD 500 hundred for each woman. The official pretended to accept the offer, informed the authorities and caught the suspect red-handed.

Bootleggers held: During a security crackdown at an unidentified location personnel from the General Traffic Department have arrested two persons for bootlegging and seized from them 29 bottles of locally manufactured booze and one person who was wanted in a theft case, reports Al- Kuwaitiah daily. During the campaign police have also issued 238 traffic citations and impounded 14 vehicles for various reasons. The impounded vehicles have been towed to the police garage.
