548 new infection cases; 546 recover from coronavirus

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 11: The Ministry of Health confirmed new cases of coronavirus infections in Kuwait rose by 548 on Sunday to take the cumulative total to 111,116, while 3 fatalities were confirmed in last 24 hrs taking total death toll from the outbreak to 658.

In terms of health zones, Al-Ahmadi governorate recorded 145 cases, followed by 91 in Farwaniya, 123 in Hawally, 100 in the Capital and 89 in Jahra, ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad revealed.

The number of people hospitalized with the virus stands at 7,190; 140 of whom are in intensive care units, said the spokesman, adding that 2,717 swab tests were conducted in the past day out of a total of 782,255 so far.

546 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours to raise the total to 103,268, the ministry had earlier said.
