539 infected with coronavirus

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 13: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health (MoH) announced today 539 new infection cases with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) during the last 24 hours.

The MoH official spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said during his daily briefing about the pandemic that the caseload of infections with the virus reached 155,874, with mortality count at 946.

There are currently 48 patients being treated at intensive care units, Dr. Al- Sanad said, adding that the whole count of the confirmed infection cases, remaining under medical treatment, reached 5,119.

234 recovered from coronavirus, total number recovered reached to 149,809

Health authorities conducted 11,567 swab tests, bringing the total number of such examinations, done since local outbreak of the contagion, to 1.359,421. (KUNA)
