494 more infected with coronavirus

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 12, The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health (MoH) announced today 494 new infection cases with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) during the last 24 hours.

The MoH official spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said during his daily briefing about the pandemic that the caseload of contaminations with the virus reached 155,335, adding that a single death with the pandemic was also registered during the same period, putting the whole mortality count at 946.

There are currently 47 patients being treated at intensive care units, Dr. Al- Sanad said, adding that the whole count of the confirmed infection cases, remaining under medical treatment, reached 4,814.

Health authorities conducted 10,340 swab tests, bringing the total number of such examinations, done since local outbreak of the contagion, to 1.347,854. (KUNA)
