2 wanted in 19 thefts held

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 21: Two Kuwaiti citizens who are wanted by law for 19 theft cases were arrested in Sulaibiya area in possession of drugs and ammunition. In a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, Public Relations and Security Media Department explained that Jahra securitymen received information about a suspicious vehicle without a number plate in Sulaibiya area.

They carried out necessary investigations to discover the vehicle was reported as stolen. Four hours after they started keeping a tab on the vehicle, they noticed another vehicle with two occupants stop near it and one of them stepped out of it and headed to the other vehicle. However, as soon as he noticed the patrol team, he jumped into the vehicle and drove away.

Securitymen chased him until he stopped after crashing into a lamppost. Securitymen detained him and checked the details of the vehicle to discover it was also reported as stolen. They checked the vehicle and found a large number of civil IDs and bank cards belonging to other individuals, ten cartons of live ammunition, 14 bullets, six bags of a chemical substance, 17 narcotic pills, 10 sachets of crystal meth and currencies of other countries. The second suspect was later arrested in Sulaibiya area.

Securitymen checked the details of the two suspects to discover they are Kuwaiti citizens who are wanted by law for 19 thefts that they carried out in different parts of the country including the theft of 14 vehicles out of which three vehicles have been recovered, two cases of stealing contents of vehicles, one case of stealing a vehicle’s number plate, one case of colliding with another vehicle and escaping and a traffic case in Maidan Hawally. After the suspects confessed to all the cases filed against them, they were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.
