1,495 Swine flu cases recorded in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, April 14: Minister of Health Dr Bassel Al-Sabah revealed that 1,495 cases of swine flu were recorded in the country during the last three months of 2017.
He said this in response to a parliamentary question submitted by MP Mohammed Al-Dalal about the presence of cases of infection in a number of schools of Ministry of Education.
Dr Bassel outlined the measures taken by the ministry to deal with the disease, such as providing treatments recommended by medical bodies, administering a protective vaccine in line with the guidelines of the World Health Organization, and administering flu vaccines for doctors.
He said the actions taken by the ministry led to a decrease in the rate of seasonal influenza virus by 33 percent compared to previous years.
