Woman arrested running fake office, helping maids get jobs

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 16: Director General of Criminal Investigation Department Major General Mahmoud Al- Tabbakh says the detectives from the department are gathering information and have started taking necessary measures against an individual who claims to be a Qatari national with Kuwaiti passport.

In a video clip, which has been circulating on social media, the suspect used words that are deemed offensive to the entity of His Highness the Amir. He also criticized the Kuwaiti passport. Major General Al-Tabbakh said, “After conducting investigations, we discovered that the suspect in the video clip resides outside Kuwait. The concerned Kuwaiti agencies have officially addressed their counterparts in Qatar for information about the person, since he claimed to be a Qatari national”. He affirmed that, “The detectives are pursuing the leads in order to arrest the person in the video and hold him accountable for his actions”.

Major General Al-Tabbakh explained that the suspect said in the video clip that his name is Abdulrahman Faisal Mohammad Salem Al-Ozba Al-Mari. He possesses a Kuwaiti passport, which “he does not feel honored to hold”. He requested “any of the Sheikhs to contact him on his Twitter account, if they want anything from him. He also said he will deal with those he described them as “informers”.

Fake hiring office: The Farwaniya police have taken into custody an unidentified Ethiopian woman for running an illusory maids recruiting office and helping runaway maids get jobs with Kuwaiti families, reports Al- Anba daily. The daily added, the arrest came after a Kuwaiti who hired a maid from this office filed a complaint with the police when his maid escaped after receiving one month salary. He told police he paid the office KD 400 and securitymen went to the office they saw the place vacant. Police then set a trap for the suspect and caught her when she returned to the office. In the office police found KD 545, and receipts.
