KUWAIT CITY, March 22: The security agencies in Kuwait continue to keep an eye on some ‘activists’ of banned Lebanese party Hezbollah following a decision issued by the GCC countries labeling it a ‘terrorist’ organization, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added, there are some known people who are believed to be either sympathizers or supporters of Hezbollah and they have been put under surveillance — people of all nationalities, especially the Lebanese, the Syrians and the Iraqis, and also the Kuwaitis.

The security authorities have once again stressed on harsh punishment for those who are dealing or sympathizing with any banned organization in the country which is classified as a ‘terrorist’.

The sources said expatriates will be deported from the country while the Kuwaitis will be referred to the Prosecution and charged with promoting and dealing with a terrorist organization.

The sources said the citizens will be classifi ed into two categories: those who are known to support the terrorist organization and who are known to the authorities but are not currently involved in any activity but are being closely monitored while the second category are those who openly express and declare their support in the social media, websites or through seminars whether inside or outside Kuwait.

On the other hand, sources revealed that those “awaiting deportation or those whose residence permits will not be renewed are Syrians and the Lebanese and a small number of Gulf citizens.”
