Wanted Kuwaiti man held

KUWAIT CITY, June 28: Policemen from the Capital Province have caught a Kuwaiti man who was wanted by law in connection with several financial claims worth KD 2 million and referred him to the relevant authorities, reports Al-Rai daily. He was caught in the Al-Sabah Health Area. When he was asked to produce his ID, he claimed to have forgotten it at home and when police insisted he pulled out the ID after a few minutes.

Ex-con arrested: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti, believed to be a former criminal, for possessing and consuming narcotic pills, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added the man was arrested inside the Ardhiya Industrial Area. According to security sources, when the man was told by police to stop, he obeyed but he put something in the mouth and swallowed. Later police discovered he is a drug addict and he had swallowed the drug pills. It is also said he has served time earlier in drug-related cases.

Unpaid debts: A 25-year-old young Kuwaiti has been arrested by police in downtown Kuwait City to serve a three month jail term, reports Al-Anba daily. According to the daily he was sentenced for failing to pay KD 1,348, debt. Police have also arrested another Kuwaiti for failing to pay worth KD 4,790 debt. Two other citizens were also taken into custody for the same reason – one failing to pay KD 3,500 and the other KD 2,063. They have been referred to the Sentences Enforcement Department.
