Verdict Tuesday in ‘terror’ case – Many arrested wanted by law for various offenses

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 11: The Criminal Court chaired by Judge Mohammad Rashid Al-Duaij will deliver the verdict Tuesday in lawsuit filed by the State Security Department against 26 Kuwaitis and an Iranian accused of conspiring with Iran and Hezbollah after they were caught in possession of weapons and other explosives, says Al-Seyassah. It is noteworthy the Public Prosecution charged the suspects in case number 55/2015, and they were investigated for possessing large quantities of weapons, ammunitions and explosives. The charges against 24 suspects included the possession of weapons to perpetrate activities aimed at disrupting unity and peace in Kuwait, and allegedly conspiring with Iran and Hezbollah to perpetrate evil against Kuwait. Also, the Prosecution accused 22 suspects of possessing ammunitions and explosives illegitimately, while 11 of them are alleged to have obtained communication gadgets illegally.

Many arrested: Capital securitymen raided difference parts of the governorate and arrested many people wanted by law for various offenses. The campaign was conducted upon instructions from Security Chief of the Capital Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah, says Al-seyassah. The officers arrested a motorist on the Second Ring Road when they detected he was under the influence of intoxicants and seized two bottles of liquor from his car. He was referred to concerned authorities for legal action. Also, a Syrian expatriate was arrested in connection with a financial case, after a citizen was arrested in Abdullah Al-Salem area for a similar offense. The officers recovered a stolen car in Shuwaikh Industrial Area. The vehicle was wanted by Farwaniya police station. Another citizen dodging six-month imprisonment sentence for theft was arrested by the officers, in addition to two Asians who were selling tape and phone accessories without license

Check on safety conditions in hospitals
The Protection Department in Hawally Governorate recently conducted an inspection campaign in public and private hospitals under the leadership of Brigadier Khaled Al-Ajmi and in compliance with the directive of Deputy Director of the General Protection Sector Major General Khaled Al- Mikrad. In a press statement, Al-Ajmi said the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate is keen on carrying out inspections in hospitals and other health facilities to ensure the safety of patients in case of emergency.

He disclosed more than 50 officers are involved in this campaign which will continue for one month in all governorates. He also expressed gratitude to the administrations of hospitals for their full cooperation in guaranteeing the success of the campaign.
