US forces heading towards the aero-medical helicopter

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 3: The US forces based in Kuwait recently revealed that they have started, for the first time, the deployment and conduct of training exercises with air ambulances and evacuation military helicopter ‘UH- 60L Blackhawk’ aimed at securing medical evacuation of commanders of ground forces from areas of operations, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to a press statement from the US Army Information Center, the fl eet of ambulance and evacuation helicopters named ‘Charlie Company’ belong to two air support battalions under the forces of Minnesota and Kansas; pointing out that they were sent to Kuwait in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Spartan Shield being implemented by the US military in the Middle East since 2014.

The statement quoted Major Nathan Burr, Commander of Aeromedical Evacuation Helicopter Company, as saying that its main task is to secure the medical evacuation of commanders of ground forces from the areas of operations. He pointed out that since its arrival in Kuwait, the company conducted field training exercises involving military units from Camp Buehring and other nearby US camps and land forces from the Kuwaiti army, including training in the field of Al-Adaira.
