KUWAIT CITY, Jan 10: Personnel from the Criminal Investigations Department have arrested three people — two Lebanese and an American — for trafficking in ‘chemical’ drug, reports Annahar daily. The daily added, acting on information the police put the men under surveillance and caught them selling drugs to a police agent. After taking legal procedures, the detectives raided the houses of the traffickers and confiscated large quantities of drugs worth KD 250,000.

Ruling revoked: The Appeals Court presided over by Justice Adel Al-Huweidi revoked the ruling of the Court of First Instance that ordered a suspect to be jailed for four years with hard labor and immediate execution, and acquitted him of possessing narcotics for commercial and consumption purposes. The case file indicated the defendant was caught in possession of narcotics without legal permission. The defense attorney, Lawyer Ayed Mahdi Al-Rashidi, attended the session and explained that his client had no knowledge of the narcotics. He also denied his client had any link to the narcotics and implored the court to clear him of all charged due to lack of evidence and proof.
