150 new coronavirus deaths in China

ABU DHABI, Feb 24:The United Arab of Emirates (UAE) decided on Monday to prevent it citizens from traveling to Iran and Thailand until further notice.
UAE’s Foreign Ministry and International Cooperation said in a press statement that this comes in light of the efforts to confront the spread of the coronavirus – Covid 19.
The ministry called on citizens in these countries to communicate with the embassy.

Meanwhile Chinese authorities announced 150 new coronavirus deaths and 409 confirmed infections around the country on Monday.
The country’s National Health Committee said the death toll came up to 2,595 people until the past 24 hours, while confirmed infection cases went up to 77,262.


New suspected cases reached 882, patients with critical conditions dropped to 10,968 and 22,936 patients were cured and discharged from hospitals since the outbreak of the virus, it added.

Meanwhile, it noted that 74 confirmed cases were recorded in Hong Kong until Sunday night, among them were two deaths. Also in Macau, 10 cases were recorded and 28 in Taiwan, including one death.


It said that 12 patients were cured and discharged in Hong Kong, six in Macau and five in Taiwan.


The Committee affirmed that the daily number of cured patients exceeded that of new confirmed infections for the fifth consecutive day, as the number of cured patients reached 1,846 compared to 409 infections in the past 24 hours. (KUNA)
