Two Syrians ‘forging’ docus to obtain bank loans caught

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7: Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have arrested two Syrians for forging documents to help obtain credit facilities and bank loans in return for money, reports Al-Shahed daily.

According to security sources the suspects were arrested after the security authorities received information that the men had turned their apartment in Hawalli into an office to issue forged documents, particularly salary certificates, to people who wished to obtain loans.

The daily added, based on this information, securitymen armed with a search and arrest warrant raided the apartment and caught the men redhanded, and seized from them equipment used in forging documents.

Device creates panic: A device found in the parking area of Kuwait Scientific Center near Arabian Gulf Road created panic among the passersby as they did not know what it was and suspected it to be a bomb. However, it was later discovered that the device belongs to Kuwait Oil Company, says Al-Seyassah. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about a suspicious device in the parking area of Kuwait Scientific Center, securitymen rushed to the location. They checked the device but were unable to identify it so they summoned the Bomb Squad. The latter examined the device to realize it belongs to Kuwait Oil Company. Necessary action was taken.

Bootlegger nabbed: Personnel from the Ahmadi Security Directorate have arrested an unidentified bootlegger for possessing 98 bottles of booze and fake KD 10 banknote, reports Al-Shahed daily. According to security sources the suspect was caught in Abu Halifa. He was reportedly seated in parked car and looked suspicious. When the police approached him, he reportedly attempted to escape but was caught and taken to the police station. Police have seized from the car 98 bottles of local booze. The suspect has been referred to the concerned authorities
